![]() ![]() ![]() The "romantic fireplace" in the bedroom had charred remnants of burned who knows what and the ashes spilled out into the room leaving that wonderful campfire smell to lull you to sleep. ![]() At least the water was hot and the towels seemed clean. The ugly: The shower was a foot rot nightmare with a slimy curled up anti slip mat. The free internet was worth the price.we could not get it to work. An effort had been made to clean the bathroom and kitchen but we doubted what was left of the bedroom carpet had seen a vacuum in the last decade. The place is beyond shop worn - it lives in the land of worn out carpet, constantly dripping faucets, mildewed mirrors, greasy fingerprints embedded in the door frames and peeling laminate counters. The 45 minute drive to the park is a nice one, but once would have been enough. The Bad: First of all - this place is nowhere near Bryce Canyon National Park, despite the pretty picture of hoodoos on the web page and business card. The bed was actually comfortable but my wife decided to sleep in her sleeping bag rather than subject herself to whatever might lie between the sheets. And there was a decent washer dryer which we were thankful for after three days of tent camping in Capitol Reef NP. If you don't want to read further.the bottom line is if we had not been exhausted from a day of hiking and travel, and if we had not seen all the "no vacancy" signs on the way in we would have bailed! Why? Read on: Lets start with the good: The "suite" did have a kitchenette with a stove/oven, microwave, and fridge. What is more "interesting" is that they proudly show a "badge of excellence" from Trip Advisor at the front desk - somebody blew that one badly, or maybe you can buy them on ebay! We ended up with a "family suite" which was WAY more expensive than their regular rooms, and more than the alternatives closer to the park. We booked this because when we searched online for a place to stay near Bryce National Park, it was literally the only place that came up with a three night in a row vacancy - and because it showed an OK Trip Advisor rating, and a good rating on - those ratings may be relative to the other places in Panguitch - or perhaps a total fluke. and again, thanks for such a wonderful time at your Motel.… 3 on Trip Advisor, keep up the good work!!!. It was a pleasure meeting them, and they are an asset to the Hotel/Motel industry. My 2 grand-daughters didn't want to leave because they were having so much fun, but we had to get on the road in the morning! During our conversation with the managers, they even asked the guests if there is anything they can do to make the place better. We met all kinds of folks from all over the world!! Met 2 girls from Switzerland who brought out Swiss choclate and Swiss cookies. The best thing was the "bonfire" in the evening where all the guests gathered. The rooms were clean the bed was comfortable, and extra special care was taken to make sure the customer was happy. The room was wonderful!!! No complaints at all - The price was great. Perfect!!!!! It is an old motor court motel from the 50s, and the managers are working extra hard to make sure travelers have a great time. We stayed here for one night only, and wish it could have been more! It is an older motel, but it was the best place on our road trip!!!!! When we drove up, the Manager, Jeff, let us see the rooms before we checked in. But this place.sheesh! Like I said, we only stayed here because nothing else in town was open but in hindsight, I'd rather have slept in the car and saved ourselves the money for dinner or drinks later on in Zion. I'll concede, if you're paying less than $80.00 per night for a hotel room, there's just certain low expectations you have to go in with. She of course, cordially declined but that seemed really sketch. My girlfriend dealt with the staff member at check-in and was invited to a "cook-out" later that night. The bathroom shower leaked, uneven bed and again, the corners in the bathroom had peeling paint, hair and a buildup of grime. I'll just get to it.Paint in the room and bathroom was peeling and in the corners, some fungus nothing bad but noticeable. Having driven since Colorado on our way to Zion, we had to pull over somewhere and sleep.unfortunately this was the only place open. It was fairly late when we drove through Panguitch.
